Welcome to 1 Sallyport

We are not a stuffy posh hotel, there is no night porter or fancy reception desk or white table linen or silver service. It is more like a gastro bar (so don't be surprized if you see a wee dog hidden under someone table!) We, like many in the hospitality industry, have had to re-invent ourselves to survive the recession and we are delighted with the results.

We are dedicated to great food and our motto is "seasonality and simplicity". We spend hours and hours "working" on making sure we get the food right, from breakfasts to mornng coffee, light lunches and afternoon teas. Dinners and late night snacks. I am sure you will be impressed.

The rooms have been renamed to be more relevent to the unique salmon culture that defines Berwick-upon-Tweed. The good news is the prices have been reduced.

The hotel has a woman owner (me) and is very sensitive to the needs of the single female traveler with room service available for dinner should you require it (we have a special offer of £15 for dinner).

It is very warm and friendly hotel and attracts lots of single woman dining after work, waiting for a meeting or just to catch up with girl friends. Although we have a bar it is not a rowdy bar. It is very professional, chic and cosmopolitan. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Cancellation - To avoid misunderstandings, we wish to remind you that a reservation constitutes a legal contract. If you have to cancel, for whatever reason you will lose your deposit and be obliged to pay the balance, unless the room is re-let.
